Academic Honesty
At ISD we believe the concept of academic integrity involves the qualities of fairness, honesty, respect, responsibility and trust.
Students who follow the principles of academic integrity:
Academic Honesty
At ISD we believe the concept of academic integrity involves the qualities of fairness, honesty, respect, responsibility and trust.
Students who follow the principles of academic integrity:
- hand in work that is honestly their own and clearly identify any:
- contributions made by others e.g. by citing sources in written work
- check that they understand the instructions for a task and seek help from the teacher when confused or unsure
- understand that observed cases of academic dishonesty should be reported
- do not take ideas or concepts from others and present them as their own
- do not put classmates in a difficult situation by asking to copy their work
- do not allow others to copy their work
- acknowledge academic difficulties and discuss them openly to find solutions
- accept correction or constructive criticism, recognizing that it helps them to learn accept responsibility for their own actions and words.
